RANGE ROLE PATCHES - Who leads, who secures, who supports

You run the shoot, and on your range it must be clear at a glance who has which role. The range officer in charge (Leitender) runs the range, the safety officer keeps watch, the range staff support. Officially this is still done with the issued armband.

The armband was built for the old field blouse. There it hooks under the rank slide and stays put. Your combat shirt and the Kommandobluse have no such loop. So the band slips, twists away or doesn’t hang at all.

This patch solves exactly that. Ten by ten centimetres, stitched all round, matt surface, hook-and-loop on the back. It holds on any hook-and-loop field, doesn’t slip and is recognisable from a distance. When the role changes, you swap the patch in two seconds.

You choose the role: Leitender with a black L on white, safety officer in red or range staff in white. The patches are handmade in Germany by Phalanx Taktik, and they last through many range days.

That gives you one thing less to worry about on the range and a clear head for what matters: the safety and the flow of your shoot.

Frequently asked questions

On an embroidered patch the design is stitched. The colour sits in the thread, so it stays strong for a long time, and the design has a raised look.

A laser-cut patch has two layers. The laser cuts the design into the top layer, and through the cut-outs you see the layer below, which forms the background. The cut edges don’t fray. Our premium patches are made of matte Cordura.

Embroidered looks classic, laser-cut looks flat and low-key. Your call.

Take it off first. In the machine the hook side collects lint and loses its grip, and it’s easier on your clothes too. If the patch is dirty, a damp cloth is enough.

Soldiers. It all started in 2023 during the evacuation operation in Sudan. Because an evacuation like that happens at short notice, there were no deployment shirts. So we designed our own and sold them at cost within the Fallschirmjäger regiment. Designs, crests and flags for all kinds of units followed.

Today we design for Fallschirmjäger, Gebirgsjäger, Jäger, Panzergrenadiere and Pioniere. You’ll find troop language and details here that only those who have served know.
