Three letters, nothing more is needed. DEU is Germany’s country marking, and it belongs on your plate carrier. In a multinational unit, the man next to you recognises you by it before he sees your face. That is how it should be for a German soldier.

The black, red and gold German badge shines beyond any cover. This patch does not. The lettering is laser-cut from the base material, not printed and not embroidered. The surface is matt and subdued, nothing shines, and the enemy cannot spot you by it.

The edges are sealed and stitched all round, so nothing frays. At 8 x 5 cm it fits the usual hook-and-loop fields, and the hook-and-loop backing holds it on your plate carrier, combat shirt, pack or helmet. You choose between Flecktarn and Steingrau-oliv, depending on what you wear.

That gives you a piece of kit you put on once and then never think about again. It is handmade in Germany by Phalanx Taktik.

Frequently asked questions

On an embroidered patch the design is stitched. The colour sits in the thread, so it stays strong for a long time, and the design has a raised look.

A laser-cut patch has two layers. The laser cuts the design into the top layer, and through the cut-outs you see the layer below, which forms the background. The cut edges don’t fray. Our premium patches are made of matte Cordura.

Embroidered looks classic, laser-cut looks flat and low-key. Your call.

Take it off first. In the machine the hook side collects lint and loses its grip, and it’s easier on your clothes too. If the patch is dirty, a damp cloth is enough.

Soldiers. It all started in 2023 during the evacuation operation in Sudan. Because an evacuation like that happens at short notice, there were no deployment shirts. So we designed our own and sold them at cost within the Fallschirmjäger regiment. Designs, crests and flags for all kinds of units followed.

Today we design for Fallschirmjäger, Gebirgsjäger, Jäger, Panzergrenadiere and Pioniere. You’ll find troop language and details here that only those who have served know.

The goods must be unused and in their original packaging, clothing with the hang tag attached. Your money is back no later than ten working days after we’ve checked the return. We can’t take back custom orders or gift cards.
